End of set Update

The end of the set is here and end of the month coming up. A round up of some of the things me and the team have been up to.

On 21/08/2025 I attended a car fire on Bewdley Hill, hopefully you weren’t stuck in the traffic build up. Luckily no one was hurt. This is an unusual occurrence, but its best everyone does what they can to be safe. Always remember to do your vehicle checks! See below for link and at the end of the message for a helpful list.

On 22/08/2025 I attended a Worcester cricket foundation event in Kidderminster Town, run by the BID. The Street Sixes Cricket Tournament was great fun and for a brilliant charity. It was good to see and chat to Kidderminster communities and businesses in a fun and energic environment.  https://worcestershirecricketfoundation.co.uk/

The bike marking event took place on 23/08/2025 in Brintons park. I got to speak to a few people, marked some bikes and a few more people signed up to Neighbourhood Matters… Hello to all the new members receiving the messages.

Bike marking is a great initiative so please look out for these events and bring your bikes along. At these events we are still able to have a chat about issues you are having.

24/08/2025 – Walk and talk

Another Walk and Talk conducted. We walked the streets of SILVERWOODS and also visited some businesses in the area. No issues seen and spoke to some friendly people.

Questions and Replies to posts

Naylors Park with my trusted mount. One of the great things about being out and about and talking to people in the community, is learning of new areas on my patch. Happy to have a visit and have a look. I have had reports of dogs being off the lead causing issues. Just remember that if you have your dogs off the lead you are still responsible for them. If they are very playful or like to jump on other dogs, be aware of what other dogs are around and check with the owner that they are happy. Most will be fine but it is best and polite to check, you don’t know the health or temperament of the other dogs.

Hi, can anything be done about the cars and motorbikes racing up and down Goldthorn road/Stourport Road every evening and weekend evenings

I will look to be out and about. I have previously been out with the speed camera so this is possibly something I can do again. I will keep you updated

Thank you to all nice comments and thank you messages.

I hope the rest of the week is ok for everyone and you have a brilliant weekend. Remember to contact us if you have any details around illegal bikes in the area, all the information you tell us does help. I will be back on duty on Monday 1st September 2025.

Something to leave you with. When looking into this day, I have looked across the sea and taken on the American; National Just Because Day, the 27 August offers up an opportunity to do stuff...just because. So feel free to celebrate this day any way you choose. Just because!

Let me know how you have celebrated and even send in a photo if you wish. Photos and messages will be posted next week on neighbourhood matters to offer others some ideas and show off any great ideas to relax or celebrate the day.

Send to the team  ofpsp.snt@westmercia.police.uk
